Following a 25 year career as a management consultant in a challenging international business and development environment, throughout Africa, the Middle East, North America and the Caribbean, I seized the opportunity to change direction by studying Psychotherapy. I brought with me considerable experience in managing change within organisations and culturally diverse peoples. My qualifications included a postgraduate diploma in management studies and an MA which encompassed marketing and social psychology.

In the early and mid 1990's I studied counselling and psychology and obtained a diploma in psychodynamic counselling and psychotherapy with an affiliate of the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. More recently I've been Accredited for Adoption Support Work (through Barnardo's).

Over the past 20 years I have been committed to my continuing professional development with years of personal therapy and ongoing studies of transactional analysis, solution focused and cognitive behavioural therapy. Also I've participated in workshops and training which included supervision (e.g with an alcohol addiction agency), anger management, couples counselling, sexuality, identity issues, the effects of trauma and loss, depression, conflict in relationships, mediation and employee assistance programmes. The latter training and work encompassed change, redundancy, harassment, problematic workplace relationships and addictions.

In line with my accredited membership and the ethics of BACP my work is supervised and insured.
